The beauty of a consistently good performing savings account is that you can put your money there and leave it safe in the knowledge that it is likely to offer a decent rate of return for the foreseeable future.

The consistent savings account survey covers the following account types:

  1. Mini Cash ISAs
  2. Notice savings accounts
  3. No Notice savings accounts
  4. Internet savings accounts

Kent Reliance Building Society tops the 18-month chart for Mini Cash ISAs, which is a great achievement when you realise that the society also accepts transfers in from existing ISAs. Usually the top paying mini cash ISAs are able to offer such rates on the basis that it is for new money only, so hats off to Kent Reliance.

On the 36-month ISA chart Yorkshire Building Society take the top spot with their e-ISA. Interestingly the only non-mutual to feature in either of the ISA consistency rankings is Halifax with its ISA saver direct.

For Notice Accounts Anglo Irish Bank is head and shoulders above the competition with its 7-Day Notice account. If you had invested £10,000 with this account for the last 36 months you would have earned £1650.45 in interest – £138.11 more than its nearest competitor.

For No notice accounts Anglo Irish Bank Easy Access Deposit account as top dog over 18 months and Beverley BS and Chesham BS just pipping West Bromwich BS into third place in the 36-month rankings.

For Internet Savings we’ve witness strong performances from Sainsbury’s Bank and Nationwide Building Society, with accounts from Leeds BS, Egg and Norwich and Peterborough BS all managing a top four position.

Moneyfacts.co.uk is proud to be the first and only comparison site to offer savers with information on the most consistent savings products and are confident this will be a popular addition to the extensive savings data we already provide.
