Experian’s latest Motor Insurance Benchmark report stated that the cost of online car insurance was over 6% higher compared to 2006. The true impact of the floods in 2007 is yet to filter through to home insurance premiums, and experts are now starting to see insurance premiums rising.

A recent survey also highlighted the fact that nearly a quarter of all UK households don’t bother to shop around for cheaper insurance and half of all households only seek one other quote. Not only are they wasting money, they could be paying for a policy that’s simply no longer suitable for their changing needs - perhaps the car is worth less since the policy was taken out, or perhaps you’re driving considerably less miles.
