Commercial Mortgages

Category: Business
Date: 20 June 2006

Commercial Mortgages are used to buy a business property or going concern, for the growth of existing business premises or for property development. Commercial property includes shops, public houses and farms.

Lenders require large deposits. The amount depends on the lending sector. On average a deposit of 20%-30% is required. Loans can be spread over terms ranging from one month to 40 years.

Whether you can get a commercial mortgage is made on the business’ ability to repay. Lenders look at past performance, the current position and long-term future plans. The interest rate you will pay may be based on these factors. A professional valuation is also usually required.
