Believe it or not there are less than 9 weeks before Christmas, so why not make the most of the credit card deals available so you can profit from your Christmas spending!

Abbey are offering 5% cashback, but that's limited to the first £1000 spent in a supermarket until 31.1.2008, so the most you can get back is £50.

Capital One offer a card that could earn you the most amount of cashback over the next 3 months - an impressive 4% cashback over the first 3 months, just enough time to cover your Christmas spend and the January sales!

Spending £2000 over this period will earn you £80. The beauty of this card is you can spend the money anywhere and there are no limits to the maximum cashback you can gain. After the initial 3-month period Capital One will continue to offer a competitive 1% cashback.

An important note is that these cards will only truly benefit those that pay their balances off in full every month, as the interest paid on these cards could soon outweigh the benefits gained from the cashback.

A few cards also offer a 0% purchase deal in addition to cashback. Yorkshire BS offers 0% on purchases for 6 months and 1% cashback on up to £2000 (0.50% over £2K).
