Credit card users have been advised to that they have a card that is best suited to their needs.
Informing consumers on how to save money during the period of economic instability, Michelle Slade, the press and PR officer for Moneyfacts.co.uk, urged customers to use a comparison website to look for better offers on financial products.
"Just log on to a comparison site and see if you can get a better deal," she said, adding that credit card comparisons are one of the features that consumers can take advantage of via such services.
"If you have a credit card make sure you have one which best suits how you use your credit card," she remarked.
This rule applies across the board, including current accounts, savings and utility providers, Ms Slade added.
Recently, Equifax external affairs director Neil Munroe suggested that contactless payment methods could soon replace credit cards and cash machines, meaning consumers may not need to remember their Pin numbers in the future.
